Learning readiness starts at birth and goes hand in hand with the normal stages of development. A child with sufficient opportunity for stimulation and development should, by the time he reaches compulsory school age, also be school ready.

School readiness is a complex concept that means that a child complies with the minimum requirements and has developed the minimum skills to make progress at school and experience success.

CLEVER PLAY ASSESSMENT is based on scientific principals and in accordance with the National Curriculum Statement. It is a comprehensive instrument with two components: Learning Readiness 5-7 individual assessment and ASB group assessment. As a result of the comprehensiveness of this combined approach, you will be able to make responsible recommendations within the supportive parent-teacher relationship pointing out developmental strengths and development deficits.

You will be provided with a comprehensive kit to assess the following learning areas:

Gross and fine motor control
Emotional development
Social development
Visual and auditory perception
Number concept
Reasoning (concrete, semi-concrete and abstract levels)
Laterality
Crossing the midline
Spatial orientation
Speech and language
Memory

Clever Play Assessment sensitizes you to form an educated opinion of a child's level of school readiness. This will enable you to identify possible developmental lags and to make responsible decisions and recommendations.

Due to the importance of the findings and recommendations you will make, not only is meeting the assessment criteria importance but also the way in which you apply the Clever Play Assessment. To ensure a knowledgeable, caring and responsible approach, this course is presented in a practical and experiential manner through active land hands-on earning and above all having fun during the experience!
